With a focus on digital media literacy, language foundations, critical thinking, and AI education, students will start a journey of exploration and skill development.
The course begins with an introduction to the diverse world of media, covering print, broadcast, digital, and social media platforms. Students will dive into topics such as digital law, security, and privacy, equipping them with essential knowledge for navigating the online landscape responsibly.
An integral component of the course is the exploration of artificial intelligence (AI), including its various applications and future implications. Through dedicated AI lessons, students will gain insights into the ethical use of AI, its impact on society, and its role in shaping future careers.
Language foundations are reinforced through lessons on effective communication strategies, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Students will improve their writing, reading, speaking, and listening abilities while exploring different literary genres and analyzing texts.
The course culminates in a series of projects and assessments that allow students to demonstrate their understanding and apply their skills in real-world scenarios. With a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application, students will emerge from the Pre-OSSD course well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the OSSD program.
This course is designed to improve students’ English language proficiency and all necessary for taking OSSD program soft skills through engaging and interactive activities. Over the duration of the course, students will explore various aspects of communication, creativity, collaboration, organization, and analytical thinking.
Students will focus on writing formal letters, exploring the components of initiative, and utilizing design thinking for problem-solving.
As the course progresses, students will learn grammar fundamentals, analyze elements of short stories, and develop personal narratives. They will also acquire conflict resolution and negotiation skills, essential for effective communication and teamwork.
Throughout the course, students will practice time management techniques, improve their oral presentation skills, and master the art of essay writing. They will learn to structure sentences and paragraphs effectively, craft strong thesis statements, and construct persuasive arguments.
In addition to developing academic skills, the course emphasizes personal development and self-discipline. Students will learn to provide and receive constructive feedback, manage stress effectively, and cultivate resilience in the face of challenges.
The course culminates in a final exam and a culminating task, allowing students to demonstrate their mastery of English language and critical thinking concepts. By the end of the course, students will have acquired the necessary skills to communicate confidently, think critically, and succeed in academic and professional settings.

The Canadian school program has been a valuable experience for me and has provided me with the opportunity to practically understand and try education abroad. Although the first academic year was a challenge for me, as the program does indeed differ from my school, I acquired many useful and new skills. This course taught me how to formulate thoughts in a structured way, analyze my own work and the behavior of others, such as characters from literary works, and apply teacher feedback to my work.

In a year and a half of studying under the OSSD program, I have improved my skills. Firstly, my time management has become better. Secondly, my English has improved significantly. I was the first in the group to complete all the assignments!
A convenient online platform helps me with my studies. The platform provides theoretical material, assignments, and tutor consultations. Additionally, there are always mentors who keep track of deadlines and your progress.
